LineCall

Privacy policy

Last updated 26 September 2026

LineCall is a photo-finish and race-timing app. This policy explains what stays on your device and what information goes to the services that support the app.

Race recordings and results stay in the app on your device unless you export or share them. LineCall does not upload race media to our own servers. Android backup or device transfer may copy app data if enabled on your device. Purchase and app-usage information is sent to service providers as described below.

Who is responsible

André Ferreira, based in Portugal, publishes LineCall for Android (com.wwandre.linecall). For privacy questions or requests, email [email protected]. You do not need a LineCall account to use the app.

Data we handle and why

  • Camera and race files. With your permission, LineCall uses the camera to record a finish and produce images, marks, timings, and race details. This processing happens on your device. The app stores races in its private storage so you can review them. It creates a temporary recording during capture and removes it after a result is processed. A failed or interrupted capture may leave a temporary file until the app or device clears it.
  • Exports and sharing. If you choose Save or Share, LineCall saves the resulting image to your device or sends it to the app you select. That app then handles the image under its own privacy policy.
  • App operation and preferences. LineCall stores settings, onboarding progress, purchase-access state, and a local journal of up to 2,000 onboarding events on your device. Camera access is needed for capture, but you can view existing races without it.
  • Purchases. Google Play processes payments. A third-party service that runs our in-app offers also receives product, purchase, and entitlement information needed to show offers, unlock features, and restore purchases. We do not receive your full card number.
  • Usage and device information. Our in-app offer and analytics provider receives a persistent app-generated identifier, app sessions, paywall and purchase events, and device information such as app version, Android version, device model, and locale. It may also process network information such as your IP address when the app connects. We send onboarding choices, screen and step names, a broad device-performance band, and generated event identifiers to understand where people leave onboarding and improve it. Our custom events do not include race images or recordings.

We use this information to run the app, manage purchases, respond to support requests, and understand how onboarding and offers perform. Where EU data-protection law applies, we rely on performance of our agreement with you for app and purchase functions, legitimate interests for operational analytics and improvement, and legal obligations where applicable. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests by contacting us.

Who may receive data

We share the information described above with Google Play for billing and with a third-party provider for in-app offers, purchase access, and related analytics. If Android backup or device transfer is enabled, Google or your device manufacturer may copy app data, potentially including race files, under your device settings. We do not run a separate cloud-sync service for races. If you email us, our email service handles that message so we can reply. When you visit these legal pages, our web host receives the network information needed to serve them. We do not run analytics scripts on these pages.

We do not sell race images or recordings. We may disclose information if the law requires it. Service providers may process information outside Portugal or the European Economic Area. Where required, international transfers rely on applicable safeguards, including standard contractual clauses. Contact us if you want more information about those safeguards.

How long data is kept and how to delete it

  • Recent races expire 48 hours after completion. The app removes expired races when it next loads the race list. Save a race if you want to keep it longer.
  • Saved races remain until you delete them or remove the app's data. You can delete races in the Races screen. Clearing app data or uninstalling usually removes local files, but exported copies and device backups may remain elsewhere.
  • Usage and purchase records remain with our service providers for as long as needed to provide their services, resolve problems, and meet legal requirements. Email us to ask about data linked to your LineCall app identifier. We may need that identifier to locate your records. Google Play may retain purchase records under its own obligations.
  • Support emails are kept while needed to answer your request and maintain a record of it, then deleted when no longer needed.

Your choices and rights

You can deny or revoke camera permission in Android settings, delete races in the app, manage exports and backups on your device, and contact us about your personal data. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing, and receive a copy of applicable data. Email [email protected] to make a request. If you are in the EU, you may also complain to your local supervisory authority; in Portugal, this is the CNPD.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy when the app or our data practices change. The current version will stay at this URL with a new update date. For questions, contact André Ferreira at [email protected].
